2007 ANSON AIR FLY-AWAYS
The Anson Air Fly-Away is designed to allow pilots and families to enjoy aviation while building pilot proficiency and confidence. We’ve assembled some Fly-Away adventures that would be great for a family get-away or a group fly-out.

A Night at the Inn
Visit historic Granbury, Texas, and spend the night at the magnificent Granbury Inn. After a relaxing breakfast, fly to Meacham Field for lunch in the Fort Worth stockyards. Visit the C.R. Smith Aviation Museum and return to Sugar Land in the evening.

Visit the Bend
A trip to the Big Bend is a favorite adventure. Fly to Lajitas International Airport and enjoy the many attractions of the Lajitas Resort. Rent a Jeep and visit the Big Bend National Park, one of Texas’ great treasures.
The Great Texas Hill Country Fly-Away
On Saturday morning fly to Gillespie County Airport for a great day of shopping and touring in Fredericksburg. Be sure to visit the Nimitz Museum before returning to the airport for a memorable evening at the Hangar Hotel. Cocktails at the Officer’s Club followed by dinner at The Cotton Gin set you up for a fabulous sleep on the exceptional Hangar Hotel Beds. In the morning fly to Lakeway Resort for a Sunday brunch feast, and return to Sugar Land in the afternoon. Be sure to check your weight and balance!
The Heart of Aviation
See firsthand how Cessna piston single engine aircraft are built with a tour of the factory in Independence, Kansas. While you’re there tour the Mustang light jet production line in the same building. You’ll be amazed at the production process that results in a brand-new Cessna. Spend the night in Fort Worth, and return to Sugar Land at your leisure.
A Day at the Beach
Why settle for Texas beaches when sugar sand is well within day-trip range for pilots. Plan to arrive in Destin, Florida, late in the morning. Have lunch and head for the beach. When you’ve soaked up enough sun and salt, get into your aerial SUV for the return to Sugar Land. This is a very popular trip. It’s a good idea to have an IFR rated pilot along so clouds en route are no issue. In addition to great fun, this trip is a great experience-builder.
Anson Air instructors are available for Fly-Aways to enhance the learning experience and help you expand your horizons.
